Daphne - Featured Longterm Resident

Daphne is an 18-month-old Border Collie and Golden Retriever mix with a beautiful and affectionate nature. Rescued from euthanasia at a crowded shelter, she has been waiting for a forever home for 8 months. Daphne is a bright, outgoing, and incredibly loving dog. Ready for a place to call home, she’s crate and potty trained, loves walks, and thrives on connection and affection from humans. However, Daphne has a unique trait that’s made her adoption journey challenging. Daphne possesses extraordinary jumping abilities, thanks to her spring-loaded legs that allow her to leap six feet without a running start! This jumping talent makes her an impressive athlete, but also presents a challenge with fencing in a backyard. Despite this, Daphne is eager-to-please and simply wants to love and be loved. Because of her special skill, Daphne would thrive in a city home without a backyard. Foster Tales is committed to supporting Daphne’s adopter with professional training to help ease Daphne into her new environment. Daphne is teachable and has much potential to be your next furry BFF- with the right training, her jumping skills can be managed and enjoyed! She’s taught to jump into your arms (hug attack!) on command. If you’re searching for a medium-energy, loving adventure buddy to fill your life with love and cuddles, Daphne is your girl!

Here’s what her foster mom has to say about her:

“Daphne is almost the perfect dog. She is solidly crate trained and great on leash. She is super affectionate and great with people and other dogs. She only needs to find someone without a backyard to escape from. She was built for apartment living and the hustle and bustle of city life.” - Courtney C.
