Nur Adopted Milo in 2023.
Here is what he had to say about his experience:
“We adopted Milo from Foster Tales 9 months ago, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of our lives!
What truly impressed us throughout the adoption process was Foster Tales' commitment to responsible adoption. Milo's profile provided a detailed and honest description of his background and any known needs. This transparency continued throughout our interaction with Foster Tales.
The first step was a phone call with Courtney to understand our lifestyle and what we were looking for in a dog. She also shared Milo's story as best she could. In a subsequent zoom call with Milo's foster mom Laura, she lovingly shared his personality and quirks. We especially appreciated their transparency around Milo's limitations with alone time and mild food guarding. Knowing this beforehand, and knowing our own situation and limitations, gave us confidence in our decision to adopt. It was clear that both Courtney and Laura wanted to ensure a good match to maximize the chances of a successful adoption.

Living in San Francisco, driving to Bakersfield seemed daunting. Luckily, Courtney offered to meet us halfway! This allowed us to spend quality time with Milo in a relaxed setting, ensuring good chemistry before we took him home.
Working with Foster Tales was an amazing experience. To this day, we stay in touch with both Courtney and Laura, who love receiving photos of our furry family member as he explores the world with us.
There are countless dogs in need, and if you're considering adopting, we wholeheartedly recommend Foster Tales!”

Eunice & Jim Adopted Olive in early 2024.
Here’s what they had to say about her experience:
“Thank you Foster Tales for the wonderful experience of adopting Olive. We are so grateful to Courtney for rescuing Olive from a kill shelter right before she was scheduled to be euthanized. And we are also very thankful to Alex, Olive's foster mom, for giving her such a caring and loving start to her new life.
Courtney, Alex, and the entire team at Foster Tales went above and beyond to prepare Olive (and us) for a smooth and supportive adoption process. We especially appreciate how thorough they were about providing accurate information about Olive’s personality and temperament, including thoughtful adoption counseling and advice at the outset, to help us get Olive settled successfully in her fur-ever home with her two cat siblings.
Four months in it feels like Olive has always been a part of our family. We love her very much and we thank you Foster Tales for saving her and bringing her into our lives!”

Lucy Loo’s Adoption Day Photo
“Working with Foster Tales was one of the best things we could have done when going through the process of welcoming a new family member into our home.
From the moment we reached out, Courtney was helpful and transparent about Lucy Loo and her needs. Throughout the adoption process, we felt supported and educated on the very big step we were taking to adopt Lucy Loo. Despite her difficult start in life, Foster Tales saw her immense potential and gave her the environment to transition into her permanent home.
When we picked Lucy Loo up we were prepared for anything thanks to Courtney and our adoption counselor. Thankfully, we didn't need much of it as she was perfectly well mannered, has still never had an accident in the house to this day, and continues to thrive and settle into her new city life beyond our wildest expectations.
We cannot commend Foster Tale's organizational teamwork and commitment to successful transition from foster homes to forever homes enough! Their impact is soon to be broadened to the wider community as Lucy Loo is currently in training for a volunteer pet therapy program at the children's hospital where one of her parents works.”

Here’s what they said about their experience:
Yamit adopted Koda early summer of 2024.
Here is what she had to say about her experience:
“Adopting Luca through Foster Tales has been one of the biggest blessings. I initially saw Luca through their Instagram account and immediately fell in love. Their team promptly reached out and helped me begin the comprehensive adoption process. They were really diligent about making sure we were a good match and that I was fully prepared to welcome Luca into my home. Their team of quality assurance specialists and certified dog trainers did a wonderful job of preparing me for his arrival. Courtney, the founder and director of Foster Tales, connected me with a reliable and trustworthy transport service that brought Luca from California to Minnesota. I felt at ease knowing that he was in good hands and would be making the move in a manner that was as stress-free as possible.
As impressive as the adoption process was, I am even more impressed by Foster Tales commitment to follow-up care. Although the transition was going really well and Luca was acclimating beautifully, he began experiencing a series of health issues. Despite several visits to the vet, all of which came up inconclusive, I reached out to Foster Tales again seeking some guidance. I couldn’t be more grateful that I did. Courtney and Deb, their in-house dog-whisperer, immediately put a plan together. Both of these incredible women were on-call 24/7 answering every question and helping me navigate this scary time. When they say their connection doesn’t end with adopting, they truly mean it. They are here to support you in any way they can for the duration of you and your pups lives together.
I cannot imagine my life without Luca in it. He lights up every room he walks into and I am forever thankful for Foster Tales for encouraging this connection.”

Richard adopted Cody in late 2024
Here’s what he had to say about his experience with us:
“Our dachshund mix, Kayla, passed away in August, 2024 at the age of 13 - as other pet owners know - it is a loss that stays with you. It wasn’t long before we knew we needed another pet in our family. Kayla was a rescue and we wanted to remember Kayla by adopting another rescue. Cody’s picture popped up on a site and referenced FosterTales.org. We called Courtney who started FosterTales to let her know that we were pretty sure we found our next Kayla dog - his foster name was Gordie.
Choosing and adopting a new pet addition to your family is not always easy. When we contacted Courtney of Foster Tales about Cody, I could tell right away that this organization was well organized and very good at managing the adoption process. Every step was well defined and easy to follow. Most importantly, Courtney and her staff kept us informed from the beginning, provided useful and important information about the process and ‘Cody’, and let us know early on that we would be considered first unless they or we decided Cody not to be a fit for us.
Especially useful was the FaceTime with Courtney and Cody, the discussion with Belle, a dog trainer, and the virtual home tour with McKenzie. We reside in the Bay Area and another person on Courtney’s staff, Deb, brought Cody to Modesto to make it easier for us to pick up Cody. Cody showed up groomed, teeth cleaned and a boy just ready for his new forever home. From the time we found Cody on line, the whole process took about several weeks - allowing us time to prepare everything for Gordie’s arrival.
If you are thinking of adopting, this is an organization I highly recommend. They are successfully placing hundreds of rescue pets and that is the real value of every adoption by Foster Tales. Oh, and Cody is amazing!”
